What's better than Zombies and Movies. Uh... Nothing! That's why a group of creatives teamed up with the Byrd Theatre (http://www.byrdtheatre.com/) to pull off the first ever Richmond Zombie Film Festival. With the Zombie Film Festival, we plan to use guts and glory to create awareness in the greater central Virginia area to raise money for specific restoration projects concerning our local gem, the Byrd Theatre.

Think with me here. Zombies wandering the streets of Richmond with a venue that accommodates all of their cinematic desires? AND raises money to keep our beloved cultural community hub, The Byrd Theatre, from having to shut down? Sounds like a good plan with a good cause, right? Right!

Here's some of the projects you will be funding for The Byrd

Secure an architectural firm specializing in historic renovation
Replace auditorium seating
Replace carpeting
Restore historical marquee
Major historical renovation of organ
Restroom renovation
Update electrical wiring
Update heating system
Repair ornate plaster
Replace rear theatre doors
Update handicapped accessibility
Upgrade security system

The Byrd Theater Foundation and 1818 Productions are proud to present a variety of films featuring the undead.

All proceeds go towards restoration of The Byrd Theatre. $5 per movie, $20 for all day pass


THE SCHEDULE!

11am: Rise and Shine with the the Dawn of the Dead remake

1pm: Comic relief from the cult classic; Army of Darkness

3pm: Turning up the horror with 28 Days Later

5pm: Gut-busting fun with Shaun of the Dead

Midnight: Come close down the festival with us and Evil Dead 2
