Mayor Bloomberg the center of attention at the Fete de Swifty

Since 2004 the Fete de Swifty benefit, a wonderful combination of a street fair and cocktail party, has been held to support programs of the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City.

Fete de Swifty—a silent-auction-based benefit held in a tent on 73rd street. Ethan Hawke, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Liz Smith were on the scene. Proceeds from the event benefit the New York City Family Justice Center Initiative, a unique public/private program administered by the Mayor's Office to Combat Domestic Violence. This year, the event also benefitted the New York City Housing Authority's Early Childhood programs, which provide children in NYCHA public housing communities with high-quality early care and learning opportunities for overall child development, and school and lifelong success. Fete has raised critical funds to support the New York City Family Justice Center Initiative of the Mayor's Office to Combat Domestic Violence. The Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City serves as the umbrella not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization for the City of New York. For more information on the event http://www.nyc.gov/html/fund/html/home/home.shtml
You can still bid on the online auction until Oct 6 at www.charitybuzz.com/fete to support the Family Justice Center Initiative and youth programs in public housing!
