Young Shipping Professionals of New York host a Pre-Release viewing of Super Yachts

Thursday, January 29th, 2009 the Board of the Young Shipping Professionals of New York (YSPNY) held an event for potential club members at the landmark Soldiers’, Sailors’, Marines’, Coast Guard and Airmen’s Club in New York City.

Over 100 professionals within the marine shipping industry attended the three hour cocktail event.

The highlight of the event was a pre‐release viewing of the book SuperYacht from publisher Gloria Books. The 620‐page glossy was available for partygoers to peruse and pre‐order a limited edition copy. In addition to the book, this event served as the first in YSPNY’s series of social and educational events planned for 2009.

“The greater New York area is teeming with young professionals working in all facets of the shipping industry,” said YSPNY President Sofia Vassilakis. “It’s exciting to be able to create a venue for our colleagues to get out of the office, come to our events and network, learn about the industry and most importantly, have a great time.”

Within the coming months, YSPNY will begin a membership drive and shortly after will begin to hold member-only social and educational events. Information regarding membership will be made available to those on the YSPNY mailing list. To join the mailing list or to find out more information, please visit YSPNY’s website: www.yspny.com.
